FAQ

How do I pay?

Our app (TimeToPet) is linked to Stripe and they accept all credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and PayPal.

What is your Cancelation Policy

We require a 24 Hour notice to cancel any appointments. If canceled under 24 Hours, a 50% charge will still apply.

Are you bonded & insured?

Yes. We are fully bonded and insured to protect your pet and home while in our care.

Are you available at all times?

Our normal hours of operation are 8 AM through 9 PM, Sun-Sat. If you have any concerns or questions, we are available by email or by direct messaging on social media. Check our Social Media for Holiday Schedules (there is an additional fee for Holiday and Weekend visits).

How do I know my pets will be safe?

At Boots on a Leash, safety is a top priority.  We provide professional and experienced pet care and we know how important your pet is to you, so all of our Boots on a Leash employees go through a full background check, CPR training, and detailed on boarding!

Does Boots on a Leash have a mobile app?

Yes, we have a FREE mobile app that can do everything from scheduling dog walks and house pet calls and updating personal, pet and payment information. You can even elect to have text, email or push notification updates and use GPS tracking to follow dog while they are out on walks.

Will my dog be walked with other dogs?

No. While we love all pets, when your pet is in our care, we will not introduce them to any other animals.

Can you administer medication?

We are trained and certified in pet care, and can provide medications and first aid necessary and do not charge extra for providing medications.

How do I provide keys to my home?

Most owners leave a spare key in a lock box or provide us their house codes. We can also discuss the most secure and convenient way if you schedule a Meet & Greet first.

Will you walk my dog in extreme temperatures?

We have restrictions when the heat index reaches certain levels. Dogs get hot very easily and we care about that fact. We are well trained and always aware of our surroundings while walking dogs so we try to either keep them in the shade, make it a quicker walk, or welcome any recommendations from the pet owner. We also carry water and water dishes on all walks when the temperature is above 85 degrees. It doesn’t get below freezing in Nashville too often, but when it does we take every precaution to ensure your pets are safe.

Do you offer a reward program for friends and family that are referred?

We do not offer an official rewards program, but we do love referrals and offer discounts for any referral sent our way. When your referral signs up for our service, tell them to include your first and last name and we will send you a discount code for your next walk.

What are the first steps?

We love to schedule a free meet/greet between pet owner, pet(s) and Boots on a Leash specialists prior to our first service. This helps establish a working relationship and puts you and your pet at ease. While we highly suggest the meet and greet, we realize life happens or many pet owners just want to schedule a quick walk or house call, so we do offer ON DEMAND walks and pet house calls.

Are there additional fees for nights and weekends?

While we do have an upcharge for Nights and Weekends, we keep it very minimal at $3 compared to $5 or $10 from other companies. We take our last appointment at 9PM.

What time will you visit my dog?

Your scheduled time window is not the exact time that we will be at your home to care for your pets. When you schedule a 20 minute, or 40 minute walk or house call, we will arrive in that time window and stay for the requested amount of time. (EX. You request a 20 minute walk at 12-12:20, and we may arrive at 12:10 and leave at 12:30).

Leave your pet with a trusted professional and take comfort knowing your pet and home are in the best hands possible.
